You wished for it, you got it!

As You Wish™ dining — the latest addition to Holland America’s Signature of Excellence initiative — makes on board dining more inviting with options to suit every taste.

Soon you will be able to choose a traditional pre-set seating and dining time or a flexible, open seating schedule. While already implemented on the ms Noordam, the program will roll out to the rest of our fleet beginning this fall. (Ask me and I will send you the dates they become available on your ship!)

As You Wish™ dining presents a menu of options:

When you book, choose either flexible/open dining or traditional pre-set dining time (early or main). Or choose the flexible/open seating program, make reservations daily up to 4 p.m. — or simply walk up during dining hours.

You may also choose to dine in the reservation-only Pinnacle Grill featuring Pacific Northwest steak and seafood specialties, or casual Lido dining. (A favorite of mine!)

Complimentary in-room dining is available 24 hours a day.

No More Smoking!

The issue of smoking on board cruise ships has become quite a hot topic. Regent Seven Seas Cruises is respectful of the lifestyle choices of their guests and will always give smokers a warm welcome, they also recognize the need to restrict where smoking is permitted so as not to cause discomfort to, or provide a health or safety hazard for, the majority of their guests who do not smoke.

In light of continuing changes in smoking policies around the world as well as the health and safety issues involved, RSSC will be changing its smoking policy in suites, staterooms and on private balconies. Not only does smoking present a fire hazard, but it is also an inconvenience to other guests as the smoke, or its odor, invades surrounding suites, balconies and public areas, creating discomfort for the guests in these areas.Smoking will therefore be prohibited in all suites, staterooms and balconies fleet-wide. This change will take effect on the following dates:

Seven Seas Voyager: December 21, 2007
Seven Seas Mariner: December 21, 2007
Seven Seas Navigator: December 27, 2007
Paul Gauguin: December 29, 2007

This is welcomed news!

A pro studies the luxury cruise lines

A few months back, I was interview by CAVIAR AFFAIR, a magazine that caters to the luxury market. Wow, was I surprised that they would want my opinion! But really, why not, after 26 years selling travel, who better?
