Why Not See the British Virgin Islands

I can personally tell you that I have visited the Caribbean many time in the past 10 years on almost everyship sailing there. Each time I stop in St. Thomas, I shop or take the ferry to St. John Island. Why? Simple, The shopping for electronics, liquor or perfume are a great value, along with the beaches where you can snorkel and swim in some very clear blue water. My only real concern is both islands are getting a little crowded for me. How many times have you walked down Main street in Charlotte Amalie with what feels like thousands of people? Well I have a great suggestion. Take the ferry over to the British Virgin Islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda or Jost Van Dyke.

If some of you have been to there, then you would agree that they are beautiful and not overrun by cruise passengers. These islands are a secret hideaway just waiting for you! It takes only 30 minutes or so from St. Thomas to Tortola by ferry and its a fun ride over. The average cost is $35 round trip, what a deal!

So my suggestion to anyone going to the Caribbean and stopping in St. Thomas, think about discovering these magical islands steep in history and culture. Why not add to your overall cruise vacation.
